has released a new advisory regarding safety measures for visitors heading to Turkey.

For travelers in Turkey, the government recommends exercising caution when hailing a taxi.
Visitors have been cautioned that using an ‘unlicensed cab’ might pose significant risks.
The latest government advisory stated: “Taking rides from unlicensed taxi operators is extremely dangerous.”
Locate a licensed taxi, make sure to observe and remember the license plate number prior to getting inside, and confirm that the fare is calculated using the meter.
‘App-based taxis and pre-booked taxis are also widely available.’
Ride-hailing applications like Uber operate in Turkey, allowing visitors to book taxis easily.
Travelers have lately been advised to exercise caution while participating in extreme activities in Turkey.



On the FCDO website, the government advised travelers to ensure they obtain complete guidance prior to participating in paragliding activities.
The message stated: “Paragliding is considered an extreme sport with potential risks of severe injuries or fatalities. British citizens have unfortunately lost their lives or sustained significant harm from paragliding accidents in Turkey.”
Ensure you receive complete instructions and training prior to participating in the activity. If you are close to locations where paragliding occurs, keep in mind that the landing zone might be situated in a public space.
