Actor Choi Jung-woo, known for his performances in ‘The Lord’s Sun’ and ‘Reply 1988,’ passed away on the 27th at the age of 68.
Choi Jung-woo’s agency, Bless ENT, informed Sports Chosun on the 27th stating, “Early today, Choi Jung-woo passed away,” and they added, “The precise cause of his death remains unconfirmed.”
The exact cause of death remains unconfirmed, however, it is reported that the individual was battling with depression and panic disorders. Additionally, it’s noted that Guanwasa visited last year and struggled through a difficult period.
Born in 1957, Choi Jung-woo made his debut in 1975 with the production “The Life of an Actor” and served as a theater actor at the Shinshi Theater Company. In 1980, he additionally took up work as a voice artist for Dongyang Broadcasting. From that point onward, leveraging his accomplishments on stage, he broadened his career into numerous television series and film appearances.
He starred in the dramas “The Lord’s Sun,” “Brilliant Legacy,” and “My Daughter Seo Young.” Additionally, he featured in the films “TecOps 2,” “Gentleman Kim Jaa-seok,” “The Chaser,” and “The Despot.”
Notably, his unexpected demise is particularly lamentable as he had been actively involved in performing roles in the TV series ‘Mrs. Ok’ and ‘Suspicious Her’ earlier in the year.
The memorial service for the departed is being held in Room 5 at the Woori Hospital funeral hall in Gimpo, with the casket scheduled to be placed there on the 29th.
