arrived in New York for its U.S. debut on Sunday evening.
At the red carpet event, Cruise fielded questions from The Hollywood Reporter regarding his previous comment made two years prior. Back then, he expressed his desire to continue working on Mission: Impossible films until he matched Harrison Ford’s current age—Ford being 80 at that point. He was further queried about any new developments concerning his future endeavors. In response, Cruise offered an even more ambitious declaration this time around.
Elaborating on his earlier statements, Cruise informedTHRthat he intends to continue acting well into his hundreds and currently sees no reason to cease his work as an actor.
“I genuinely mentioned that I plan to continue making movies until my 80s, and in fact, well into my 100s,” he stated.
“Never stopping is my resolve. Whether it’s taking on actions, dramas, or comedies—I’m thrilled about it,” Cruise stated enthusiastically.
In the meantime, Mission: Impossible had its global launch at the 2025 Cannes Film Festival held last week. The film is helmed and co-scripted by Christopher McQuartrie and boasts an impressive ensemble cast featuring Hayley Atwell, Ving Rhames, Simon Pegg, Pom Klementieff, and Angela Bassett.
